In accordance with the Circular of the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils, and Local Government, the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL) marked the commencement of the 2024 Work Year with an official ceremony held on January 1, 2024, at 9:00 am in the Main Auditorium. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. A. Rameez, Vice Chancellor of SEUSL, as the distinguished patron.
The event began with the Vice Chancellor raising the National Flag and the playing of the National Anthem, followed by a march by the SEUSL Security Division. A pivotal moment was the state service oath-taking, officiated by the Acting Registrar and Acting Bursar of the university.
In his address, Prof. Rameez emphasized the critical responsibility that comes with the oath and urged all staff members to dedicate themselves to providing exceptional service to stakeholders throughout the year. He highlighted the university's significant achievements in the previous year and outlined prospective initiatives for academic development in the coming year. Prof. Rameez underscored the importance of diligently working towards people-centered, sustainable economic development for the nation. He particularly encouraged the staff to actively contribute to rebuilding Sri Lanka.
