The community of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka welcomed the New Year 2018 with joy and happiness. Vice Chancellor Prof. MMM Najim who chaired the ceremony hoisted the National flag followed by National Anthem.

The oath taking for the year 2018 was the main feature of the program where the entire staff of the University including Deans, Senior Lecturers and heads of Departments and too participated in the ceremony. The affirmation of oath was read in Sinhala by the Voice Chancellor Prof. MMM Najim and Tamil by the Registrar H.Abdul Saththar.

At the conclusion of the program "Kiribath" were served to all in traditional manner.
