The Sri Lanka Institute of Local Governance (SLILG) and the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka( SEUSL) have entered into a MoU on 15-05-2023 to conduct “ Capacity Development Programs and Courses” for officials in the Local Government Sectors in the Eastern Province on the following themes:
1. Environmental Protection and Preservation,
2. Solid Waste Water Management and Rain Water Harvesting,
3. Koha Software for Library Information Services,
4. Research Methodology,
5. Project Management, &
6. E-Local Governance.
The courses will be conducted at the Staff Development Centre of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka with resource panels drawn from inside and outside of the University under the coordination of the SLILG.
This initiative of SEUSL is aimed at reaching out to the community in the region, as community outreach programme is one of the objectives of the higher educational institutions.
Dr. Suratissa Dissanayaka, Chief Executive Officer/Director, joined with Mr. Jagath Dissanayaka, Program Officer, Prof. (Dr.) A. Rameez, Vice Chancellor of SEUSL, Dr. (Mrs.) MAC. Salfiya Ummah, Director, Staff Development Centre, SEUSL and Mr. OLM. Munawwar, Staff Management Assistant, Staff Development Centre, SEUSL, and other officials have participated at the event.
