In order to enhance the computer skills of the students of the University and develop their latest technology, Information Technology and English Access Labs were established at the Faculty of Arts and Culture, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka under the IDAS-HETC project. The above two labs were well equipped with computers and other related accessories. The opening ceremony was held on Monday (2^nd May) at the Faculty of Arts and Culture under the chairmanship of M. Abdul Jabbar, Dean of the Faculty.

The Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.M.M.Najim who participated as Chief Guest at this ceremony inaugurated the above labs for the utilization of Faculty students.

Addressing the Students and the Staff, Vice Chancellor Prof Najim wanted them to get maximum benefit out of these Labs and see that they are utilized to maximum. Hence, English Language Teaching Unit Head Dr. AMM Navaz, Head of Computer Unit AMM Mansoor Academic and non-Academic Staff members participated in the ceremony.
