South Eastern University of Sri Lanka as a higher educational institution, provides a space by way of grants and other resources towards the development of research culture among the academic staff members. International Symposium 2017 provides valuable opportunity for academics from different universities leading to knowledge dissemination. It also serves to foster communication among researches and practitioners, working in a wide variety of scientific areas with a common interest in improving advances in inter-disciplinary research and implications. Said the Vice Chancellor of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka Prof. MMM Najim.

Participating as chief guest at the 7th International Research Conference 2017 on the theme "Multidisciplinary research for sustainable Development" of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka held at FIA Audutorium on Thursday (7^th December), Prof.Najim addressed the academics, researchers and other professionals.

Co-Coordinator of the Int.Sym 2017 Dr.MIM Jazeel delivered the welcome address and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Professor Dr. PV Mainivannan delivered the key note address.

Although 154 research papers were submitted at this Conference 101 papers were taken for analysation. Academics and Educationists from India, Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangaladesh and Sri Lankan professional for the leading Universities too participated in the conference.

Adding fuhrer Prof Najim thanked the Organizers of this Research Conference and extended his gratitude and fuhrer said that research finding of this Conference could address national as well as regional challenges confronting the society, he said.

Joint Secretary Dr. Rameez Aboobucker delivered the introductory address of the key-note speaker Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Professor PV Mainivannan.

Professor PV Mainivannan said he was happy to participate in this research conference and delivered a lengthy address on address with power point presentation.

Professor PV Mainivannan as mark of rememebrence of the day presented a memento to the Vice Chancellor Prof Najim and the Coordinator of the program Dr. Jazeel.

At the conclusion of the program Prof. Najim presented a memento to Professor PV Mainivannan. Joint Secretary of Symposium SL Abdul Haleem proposed the vote of thanks.
