With the view to provide accommodation facilities to all students coming from various parts of the Island a four storied building with all amenities is to be constructed at South Eastern University of Sri Lanka at a cost of Rs. 212 million set apart by the Ministry of Higher Education.

A simple ceremony to mark the laying of the foundation stone was held at Oluvil in a very beautiful surroundings on Thursday (9th February) where the Vice Chancellor Prof. MMM Najim participated and laid the foundation stone for the project. Acting Registrar MI Nawfer, Deputy Registrar A.Thyub, Works Engineer MSM Faseel, Deputy Director Accommodation UL. Munsoor and several other Officials too participated.

This Hostel would accommodate 400 students without any problems. It is informed that once this project is completed successfully this would solve the accommodation problems of the students to a certain extent.
