'KALAM'- International Journal of the Faculty of Arts and Culture, Vol. IX, NO 1

The 'KALAM' is a refereed journal being published in August 2015 by the Faculty of Arts and Culture of the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. The Volume IX, (NO, 1) will be published in August 2015. The research articles will be reviewed by the panel of reviewers at SEUSL and outside the university.

The 'KALAM'-Faculty Journal of FAC will be published in two volumes namely; Volume IX, (01), Volume IX, (02) And each volume will consist of two issues for both English and Tamil publications in the following manner.

GUIDELINES

Article Types for Submission: All submitted formatted full-text articles should report original, previously unpublished research results, experimental or theoretical could be considered for publication.

Manuscripts must be submitted on the understanding that they have not been published elsewhere and are not currently under consideration by another Journal. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the article's publication has been approved by all the other co- authors. It is also the authors' responsibility to ensure that the articles emanating from a particular institution are submitted with the approval of the necessary institution. Only an acknowledgment from the editorial office officially establishes the date of receipt. Further correspondence and proofs will be sent to the author(s) before publication unless otherwise indicated. It is a condition of submission of a paper that the authors permit editing of the paper for readability. All enquiries concerning the publication of accepted manuscripts should be addressed to the editor in chief of the Kalam.

Peer Review Process: All manuscripts are subject to peer-review and are expected to meet the scientific criteria of significance and academic excellence. Submissions will be considered by an associate editor and-if not rejected right away-by peer-reviewers, whose identities will remain anonymous to the authors.

If the paper is accepted with changes then author(s) will requested to respond with changes suggested by the reviewers. The Associate Editor reviews the revised manuscript after the changes have been made by the author(s). Once the Associate Editor is satisfied with the final manuscript, the accepted papers will be published after the final decision of Editor-in-Chief and accepted by Associate Editor.

Title and Authorship Information: The following information should be included

1. Paper title
2. Full author names
3. Institute Name, Name of Department
4. Country Name
5. E-mail addresses


Abstract:
A self-contained abstract outlining in a single paragraph (an abstract not more than 200 words) the aims, scope and conclusions of the paper must be supplied.

Keywords:
Immediately after the abstract, provide a maximum of five keywords (avoid, for example, 'and', 'of'). Be sparing with abbreviations: only abbreviations firmly established in the field may be eligible.

Structure of Main Text:
Follow this order when typing manuscripts: Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, and Main text under sub-headings, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, Appendix, References, Figure Captions, Figures and then Tables.

Copyright: All authors must sign the Transfer of Copyright agreement before the article can be published. This transfer agreement enables organizers to protect the copyrighted material for the authors, but does not relinquish the authors' proprietary rights. The copyright transfer covers the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, photographic reproductions, microfilm or any other reproductions of similar nature and translations.

Proofreading is solely the author's responsibility. Any queries should be answered in full. Please correct factual errors only, or errors introduced by typesetting.

The guideline and other important dates are given as follow; for Volume: IX, (NO 1)

* Date for calling the full papers : From 25th of May to 24th of June 2015
* Revised paper should be sent on or before July 20,2015
* For English: Times New Roman font - 11 size
* Paper format: 8 to 12 pages in B5,
* The full research article / manuscript should consist of major elements namely; Background, problem statement, objective(s), methodology, Literature survey (only five best literatures), results and discussion, conclusion and references (APA method)
