Addressing the young researchers and academics gathered at this conference the Chief Guest Prof. Najim said that organizing the research conferences of this nature would definitely enhance the young researchers' activities and pave the way for them to a healthy educational environment. So, one should always engage enthusiastically in research activities. He further added that this conference focuses mainly on the impacts of research and development towards achievement of a global knowledge society. The theme stresses on the importance of research and development in present post conflict development of Sri Lanka. Arts research session provides valuable opportunities for the researchers, academics and students to present, share and disseminate their research findings and assist the nation in the development and to lead the nation towards a global knowledge society.
Finally he extended his gratitude to the organizing committee for their concerned effort and unstinted contribution of the session a success.
Prof. Dayaratna Banda in his key note speech detailed the methodology of preparing the research activities more efficient and meaningful. He also touched the present research works and how researchers should concentrate and give priority to their works.
Finally the key note speaker Prof. Dayaratna Banda was presented with a memento by the Chief Guest Vice Chancellor Prof. Najim as a mark of remembrance of the day.

More than 140 research papers from the academics and researchers of Higher Educational Institutions including young Academics from India and United States of America were received by the Organizing Committee out of which 90 were selected for selections and publish. A large number of young academics and researchers were present from other neighboring countries too were present at this conference.
