    Keynote Speaker

    BSc Business Administration (USJP Sri Lanka); MBA (PIM, Sri Lanka); PhD (Keele University, UK).


    Professor Chandana Alawattage currently leads the Accounting Research Cluster at Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, UK. He is internationally known as a critical accounting scholar through his publications in leading accounting journals, such as Accounting, Organisations, and Society, Critical Perspectives on Accounting (CPA), and Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal (AAAJ). Among many other themes, he has published extensively on how neoliberal global politics, including UN SDGs, complicates management control practices, especially in postcolonial nations. He has been the plenary speaker at many international conferences and workshops, including his recent presentation at the Management Accounting Research Group Conference 2023 at Ashton University, UK. He has been an editorial member of leading international accounting journals, including CPA and AAAJ, for over two decades. He is also the associate editor of the Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies (an Emerald Journal).
