About the Library

The University is at present served by two libraries. The Main Library at Oluvil serves the needs of the Faculties of Arts & Culture, Management , Commerce and Arabic & Islamic Studies and faculty of Engineering. The Science Library at Sammanthurai Campus serves the needs of the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Main Library of South eastern university of Sri lanka was named as Ashraff Memorail Library.

This Ashraff Memorial Library is located at the centre of the university which can attract lecturers and students of all four faculties of Oluvil campus of SEUSL. This library gives conducive learning environment, excellent facilities and effective and efficient services to the clients. Library provides variety of services such as borrowing, online renewal and reservation, document delivery, online information search, WebOPAC, photocopying and a range of e-reources . Library often conducts user education programmes, such as access to scholarly databases, online search, search strategies, web OPAC and other information literacy programmes.

The objective of the SEUSL Library is to effectively support the university in achieving standards of excellence in its academic programmes and activities. More specifically, its goal will be to provide access to scholarly information in support of the teaching, learning and research activities of the university, as they relate to the curricula. The aim of the university Library is to build a collection of the highest degree of excellence, both quantitatively and qualitatively, which while reflecting the needs of the present will also anticipate those for the future and is responsive to the dynamics of curricular changes.
