During last few decades many countries in Asia and Africa encountered unforeseen natural disasters apparently due to both the climate change and deficiencies in built environment. It is highly essential that the nations who face similar disasters make collective efforts in searching preventive and migratory measures rather than acting on individual basis. The purpose of the IRENE 2017 is to provide a better understanding of disaster situations, knowhow on the most appropriate solutions and to build a strong regional and international network that enables them to seek advice whenever necessary. Moreover, it is a platform for researchers, academics and experts to exchange technological and scientific solutions available for disaster situations and to attract state and private sectors to fund research and development, awareness promotion activities and international events related to similar topics"
