Books and Magazine Launch of Student Research Forum (SRF) for Social Researches


Student's Research Forum is an official association that has been successfully leading in the faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language, South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. Thus, a book and magazine launching ceremony was organized and held on 12th December 2018 as an important milestone in the history of SRF .The ceremony was commenced sharply at 2.40pm at the auditorium of Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. Prof. MMM Najim, Vice Chancellor of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka chaired the ceremony as the chief guest of the event. And guest of honor was Dr. SMM Mazahir, Dean of Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. Dr. A.R Nasar, Head of the Department of Arabic Language, Dr. M.I.M Jazeel Head of the Department of Islamic Studies and Prof. Rameez Abdhullah, Professor of Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts and Culture dignified the event by being present as the special guests. Three consecutive literary works including two books and a magazine were launched in the ceremony. Respectively they were "Arabu Thamilum Arabuth thamil Aakkangalum" by Dr..SMM Mazahir, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language and the Senior Treasurer of SRF, "Vizhihal Varaindha Oviyam" , an anthology of poems by Mr. MSM. Hilmee, a final year student and the first magazine of SRF "The Voice of Research".

The launching ceremony was commenced at 2.40 p.m with the welcome address of Mr.SLM. Nafeer, President of SRF. The chief guest speech was addressed by Prof. MMM. Najim, Vice Chancellor of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka. The launching sessions of the two books were held exclusively as the next event. A Precise, critical and effective review was made by Prof. Rameez Abdhullah on both the books that were launched. The next event on the agenda was the address by guest of honor and the author Dr. SMM Mazahir, Dean, Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. A unique digital repository of Arabic Tamil Collection was also introduced and launched as a new effort in the Digital Archive, Library of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka by the Librarian Mr. MM Rifaudeen. Following it was the note by the author of the poetry book Mr. MSM Hilmee.

The magazine "Voice of Research" being one of the most important achievement of SRF was launched as the next event on the agenda and it was critically reviewed by Mr. FHA Shibly, Senior Lecturer of Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language. Finally the ceremony was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. MTA. Fareeha, Vice Secretary of SRF.
