The 5th International Symposium 2018 organised by the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (FIA)
The 5th International Symposium 2018 on the theme "Sustainable Development through Arabic and Islamic Studies" organised by the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Arabic Language (FIA), South Eastern University of Sri Lanka was held on 29th November 2018, at FIA auditorium.
The Session chaired by the Dean of the Faculty Ash Sheikh Dr. S.M.M. Mazahir was attended by the Vice Chancellor Prof. M.M.M Najim as Chief Guest.
Prof. M.A.M. Siddique, Retired Professor in Oral Medicine, Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya who supposed to grace the occasion as the key-note speaker. But due to un-avoidable circumstances, he was unable to attend the event. The key-note address was read by Dr. M.I.M. Jazeel, Head / Senior Lecturer, Department of Islamic Studies, with the concern of Prof. M.A.M. Siddique.
69 Research papers from the Academics of leading Universities and other Institutions in Sri Lanka including 02 academics from foreign Universities have been submitted at this symposium. The Chairman of the 5th International Symposium, Dr. S.M.M. Mazahir delivered the Welcome Address while the Coordinator of the Symposium Mr. M.H.M. Nairoos proposed the vote of thanks.
