SSFIA's Humanitarian Assistance to the Needy
Sociological Society of Faculty of Islamic studies & Arabic Language of South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SSFIA) who has been extending its humanitarian assistance to the needy, especially where the marginalized are living for the last three years under took a field tour to Polannaruwa Perakum Elders Home, Shanties in Wellampitia and Handicapped Centre in Thihariya recently.
The idea of this trip is to while the undergraduates identify themselves their life style and problems confronted by them they also assist them in whatever possible way they could. The team led by FIA's Lecturer Minnathul Suheera MYM distributed items required to their centers, elders home and villagers living in shanties.
FIA's Lecturer Minnathul Suheera told our Correspondent that this trip had given them a very good experience and lessons of how human beings were managing their life facing challenges in the society. She also said that they are highly satisfied with their field trip as they could assist them to the needy who are living in marginalized society. We are really happy indeed,she added
