World Environment Day in fitting manner
World environment day on the theme "beat the plastic pollution" organized by the students of the Final year Geography Special of the Faculty of Arts and Culture was held at the at auditorium, Faculty of Arts and culture South Eastern University of Sri Lanka on Tuesday (05th May) under the patronage of Prof. M.I.M. Kaleel, Head of the Department of Geography .
The highlights of the programme was the Poster Coopetition where a large number of students took part in the competition depicting the environmental concerns.The students who excelled in the completions were awarded with certificate for their excellent work and the gallery of their work showcased for the awareness at the faculty premises.
Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture M.L. Fozaul Ameer who participated as chief guest delivered Keynote address stressing the point of preserving the Environment and how to overcome the present environmental problems by the usage of plastic,the main element to control the plastic pollution according to the global perspective of 2018 world environment day.
